It is important to mention that, the ICC has already kept a 'Reserve Day' for the final to avoid any weather-related issue in India vs New Zealand.
If rain interrupts play on the scheduled day, match officials will first try to complete the game on the same day by using the available extra time.
The umpires will attempt to reduce the number of overs if necessary so that a result can still be achieved. However, for a match to be officially completed, both teams must get the opportunity to bat for at least 10 overs each.
If weather conditions do not allow even a minimum 10-over match to be completed on Sunday, the match will then move to the reserve day on Monday, March 9.

The reserve day will be used to continue the game from exactly where it stopped. For example, if a few overs were played before rain stopped the match, play on Monday will resume from that exact point.
If the toss has already taken place but no ball has been bowled, the result of the toss and the selected playing XIs will remain the same for the reserve day.

If the match is not completed on the reserve day as well, India and New Zealand will be declared joint winners of the tournament. While this is not the ideal outcome for players, it ensures that the tournament still concludes with champions.
