12:12 PM IST, Local Time: A tense 4-wicket win for Madhya Pradesh in the end chasing a low score at the DY Patil Academy in Ambi, Pune against Andhra gets them their first points in the Super League stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
Winning the toss, MP invited Andhra to bat first. Excellent bowling from Tripuresh Singh (3/31) and Shivam Shukla (4/23) skittled Andhra for 112 with Srikar Bharat top scoring with 39. Nitish Kumar Reddy returning to his domestic side with 25 in 27 balls.
Reddy's comeback was short lived with the bat but magnificent with the ball as he pushed the MP batting order on the backfoot with a hat-trick in his first over removing Harsh Gawli, Harpreet Singh Bhatia and Rajat Patidar in successive deliveries to put the score down to 14/3.
Venkatesh Iyer opening the innings today scored 22 off 18 deliveries but was sent back by KV Sasikanth in the 7th over. Rishabh Chouhan found an able partner in Rahul Batham with the duo adding 73 runs for the 5th wicket.
Batham finished unbeaten on 35 but Rishabh Chouhan missed out on a fifty scoring 47 in 43 balls but holed out in the deep trying to finish the game when only 3 runs were required. Besides Reddy's 3/17, it was Sasikanth's 3 over-spell of 1/12 that made little difference to the game but Andhra never had enough runs on the board to put a true challenge and MP romped to victory with 15 balls to spare.

Replays come in, Bharat has done really well to take the bails off in a flash. Verma appears to be struggling to make his ground. TV umpire Mohit Krishnadas wants to confirm at what point did the bails come off the groove. Yes the bail is off the stumps with Verma's bat on the line, not behind it! OUT on the big screen!
