Milestone
History has been scripted by the USA tonight in Chennai as they have hammered the Netherlands, registering their first-ever win over them in T20Is. It was a dominant display that underlined their growing confidence on the big stage. For the Netherlands, this heavy defeat has dealt a serious blow, with their Net Run Rate taking a massive hit and their tournament hopes hanging by a thread. The USA will now aim to win their next game and keep their fingers crossed for other results to go their way.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Darpan Tikiya who, along with scorer/analyst Raju Khariya, statistician Aman and helping buddy Mohammad Anab brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Monank Patel (USA captain): "(Pleased with the win?) Firstly, really happy the way we played today. I thought, losing the toss and batting first wasn't easy. The wicket was holding and I thought the way we showed the intent, that is what we were missing the in the first two games. I thought we came back really well as a batting department. The top four took the responsibility and played with the intent and scored really good.

(Change in intent?) I think initially we wanted to check the pitch, look at how it's behaving, and as soon as we knew when we got settled, we wanted to make sure that we punish the bad balls and show the intent and put them under pressure. I think we have prepared really well in the warm-up games also. We scored 200-run against India A and New Zealand. It was just a matter of, you know, showing more intent in the first two games. It was tough games for us as soon as we entered the World Cup. But it's a lot of learning in from that first two games, and it's going to help in this last two games.

(On Mukkamalla)
He's an incredible talent for USA. The way he's been batting since last two years, he's batting like as if he's been playing for 10 years for the USA. He's very mature player, and credit to him.He took the responsibility. We've been talking about top three, that one of the top three has to bat throughout, and the way he batted here, credit to him.

(On Harmeet) I think it was very simple for him. As soon as he saw that the ball was gripping a bit. He has the experience and skills to spin the ball, and the way he, I thought, varied the pace, got them out, and, you know, credit to him. I thought he bowled brilliantly."
Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "(Whether they leaked far too many runs in the 1st innings) Yeah, it was probably more than we were hoping for. I think the bowling group has been sensational for the first two games but we were not at our best today. USA obviously did put us under a lot of pressure. I thought we dragged things back well though in the backend.

(What assessment did you make of the pitch from USA's batting?) Yeah, it was obviously quite a good pitch. We never really good going there with the bat. We kept losing wickets and it's obviously disappointing.

(How tough is it to recover after losing 3-4 wickets early in the innings?)
It's very tough to be honest especially when the asking rate gets up to 11-12. It gets tough to get that rate down but it was difficult for us.

(Preparations for the next game vs India)
We obviously travel again tomorrow. We will have a deep brief on this game, take a day off and then reset for that game."
Harmeet Singh (Player of the Match): "(The plan?) When I first saw the wicket in the first innings, when I went into bat, the ball was holding in the wicket. So, the plan was to look to spin. In the powerplay, when I bowled, it did grip from the first ball. So, I did not change the ball.

(The discussion with the captain?) That was the chat in the middle, that there is assistance when we look to spin. So, whenever under pressure, spin the ball.

(On the batters)
They deserve it (Player of the Match award) more. Especially the way Saiteja (Mukkamalla), he gave us the start and then, Shubham (Ranjane) to finish the game. Credit to them. They gave us that many runs and allowed me to go out there spin the ball.

(On the road ahead) A lot of funny things happen in the game. We do what is in our control. We try to get another big win and things can happen. We keep trusting. We keep fighting. I think the first two games were also close ones. There is a lot of talk about us. We have shown the world what we can do. Today, we have shown what we can do with the ball as well."
