Milestone
And that brings a close to a memorable Tri-Series in Rawalpindi. Pakistan chased down the target with commendable ease, securing the trophy. A dominant performance sees the hosts lift the silverware, winning by 6 wickets.

Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh, scorer Ghanendra Singh Thakur, and statistician Aman. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!
Mohsin Naqvi along with other officials present Salman Ali Agha with the Tri-series trophy. He takes it and goes to his players to pose behind the champions board.

Salman Agha (Pakistan's Skipper): "It feels great to get the job done like this. We’ve had a really good couple of months - first against South Africa and now against Sri Lanka in both ODIs and T20Is.

There was that little setback in the previous game, but the way we responded today makes me really proud. We want to keep building on this and continue playing this kind of cricket in the future as well.

Looking ahead to the T20I World Cup, the main focus for us has been preparation and depth. We wanted to make sure we have a strong pool of players ready, not just the playing XI. You never know what can happen in a tournament like the World Cup, so giving everyone opportunities and keeping the bench ready has been important. I’m happy that whoever has come in has performed and understood their role.

With the new coaching staff, it’s been about four to five months now, and the communication has been very clear. Every player knows what’s expected from them, and that clarity has helped us play with confidence. The bond between the group and the staff has been really positive, and I hope we continue this way.

As for preparation, I feel we’re very close to finalizing those 15 players for the World Cup. We still have six games to go, so if there’s anything left to try, we’ll do it. But overall, I believe we are almost ready."
Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka Captain): "Yeah, see we expected the wicket to behave better than this. We had the chance after a good start, we should have known against whom we should be taking chances. Right-handers taking chances against the left-arm spinners, you need to be mark.

We take it as a part of our learning before going for the World Cup. We are playing Pakistan again in January, hopefully we will do well.

Yeah, of course. Kamil Mishara, Pathum Nissanka, Chameera, Maheesh, Hasaranga everyone chipped in which is a very good positive. We know our team is a quality team, we are confident to do well against Pakistan in January and then in the World Cup.

We enjoyed our time here. We were not allowed to go out but we made a lot friends with Pakistan and Zimbabwean players."
Mohammad Nawaz (Player of the Match and Player of the Series): "As an all-rounder, I understand the responsibility, and I’m happy that my form is going well. I’ve been able to contribute whenever the team needs me, and that gives me a lot of confidence.

With the ball, the coaches have supported me really well, as we’ve made clear plans and I’ve just tried to keep things simple and stay aware of the match situation.

With the bat, my mindset depends on the game. If the pitch is difficult or wickets are falling, then my focus is just to build a partnership and stabilize things. But if the situation demands counter-attack and quick runs, then I back myself to play that role as well. The moment I reach the crease, I try to read the situation and decide how to approach the innings.

Overall, it has felt great performing with both bat and ball throughout the tournament. Thank you very much, and I hope to carry this momentum forward into the next series."
