That concludes our coverage as well. Disciplined bowling from Madhya Pradesh bowlers sees them defend 153 runs and return to winning ways. For now, it’s me, Deepak Prakash, taking your leave on behalf of scorer/analyst Rajesh Pal. CHEERS!
Player of the Match: Arshad Khan
7:51 PM IST, Local Time: Excellent bowling display from the MP attack, as they successfully defended 153 and sealed a 21-run win. Maharashtra batters lost wickets at regular intervals and failed to make significant partnerships, and they had to pay the price for it.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh posted 153/8 after a late surge powered by Arshad Khan’s lively 30 off 17 balls. Ankush Singh set the tone early with a rapid 23 off 10, but Maharashtra clawed back following some early fielding lapses. Rahul Batham (21) and Harpreet Singh Bhatia (29) offered brief resistance, yet regular wickets halted momentum, and MP slumped to 97/6 by the 15th over. Arshad’s counterattack, supported by Aniket Verma (19), lifted the innings with a crucial 45-run stand, while Tripuresh Singh’s quick 11* off 4 helped them cross 150 runs. For Maharashtra, Rajvardhan Hangargekar led the attack with 2/30, while Saxena, Solanki, debutant Tanay Sanghvi, and Vicky Ostwal chipped in with a wicket each. Maharashtra were rocked early, losing Prithvi Shaw and Niraj Joshi inside the first three overs.
Arshin Kulkarni (31 off 29) and Rahul Tripathi (37 off 38) rebuilt with a 54-run stand, but once that partnership was broken, the chase unraveled. Ranjeet Nikam chipped in with a brisk 25, and Nikhil Naik stayed unbeaten on 18, yet the required rate kept climbing as wickets fell regularly. MP’s bowlers were disciplined throughout. Tripuresh Singh led the charge with 3/23, while Arshad Khan chipped in with 2/14. Rahul Batham and Shivam Shukla picked one each as Maharashtra failed to find momentum and could only muster 132/8 in 20 overs.
