An attacking wicket-keeper batsman hailing from Maharashtra, Naik was bought by the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2016 auction for Rs 30 lakh. He debuted in the same season but played only two matches. He has been rated as an explosive batsman in the domestic circuit.
KKR bought him before the IPL 2019 for the base price of Rs 20 lakh but could not make it into the starting XI for any of the matches last season. The story is likely to be the same as the KKR has already got a wicket-keeper batsman in the form of Dinesh Karthik who is the captain of the side.
