Joel Davies (Player of the Match): “Yeah, I think I haven’t played in a game like that before. It was scrappy. We found ourselves in a tricky position but happy to get across the line.

We were fortunate enough to bowl first. It came good while batting in the second innings. Happy to get the win in the end.

I think the fast bowlers did a fine job and made my job easier. They set the tone early in the innings.

When I walked in, it was a run-a-ball required. When Hayden came out, he said keep batting and wait for that Surge and it worked out."

17:01 PM IST, 10:31 PM Local Time: A thrilling low-scoring game but it is the Sydney Sixers who get home through a mature partnership from Joel Davies and Hayden Kerr. The Sixers were put under pressure at 56/7 but they have got home with eight balls to spare now.

Chasing 115 for victory, Sydney Sixers were rocked early when young left-arm seamer Oliver Patterson removed Babar Azam and Josh Philippe off consecutive deliveries in the third over. Brisbane Heat skipper Nathan McSweeney decided to bowl Xavier Bartlett for a third straight over and he repaid that faith by getting rid of Daniel Hughes in the sixth over.

The onus was on the experienced pair of Moises Henriques and Jordan Silk to pull the Sixers out of trouble. However, Matt Kuhnemann reduced the Sixers to 47/5 by dismissing Silk and Jack Edwards off back-to-back balls. Henriques also departed in the 10th over in a soft manner as he chipped a full delivery from Jack Wildermuth to Kuhnemann at short extra-cover. The Sixers were soon 56/7 when Matt Renshaw had Ben Manenti caught and bowled.

The Heat looked to be in prime position to win the game but Davies and Kerr came together to calmly rotate the strike for a while. As and when the opportunity presented, the pair also found the fence just like how Davies did in the 14th over to take 14 runs off Wildermuth's bowling. The equation came down to 12 off 12 balls when the Power Surge was also mandatorily activated. Kerr didn't take much time to finish the game as he smoked a six off the fourth delivery to seal the game by three wickets.

6 SIXXX!!! Kerr finishes things off in style. A massive hit into the crowd and the Sixers get home with three wickets in hand. Patterson from round the wicket bowls it short outside off, Kerr stands tall and pulls it powerfully over the mid wicket fence for a biggie.
18.3 O Patterson to J Davies
1 A yorker tailing in on the pads, 131.5 kmph, Davies clips it to short fine leg for a quick run.
