That's it from another wonderful contest in the ongoing ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025! South Africa get their first 2 points on the board and move up to number 5 in the points table. New Zealand after 2 losses from as many games will have a lot to reflect before they play Bangladesh in Guwahati on Friday. South Africa however will face hosts India next on Thursday in Vizag. Ninaad Dixit here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey, scorer Ashok Dayma and statistician Aman. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.

Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain): "Such an amazing turnaround. This was something we knew we were capable of in that first game. I am really happy how we put that behind us and bounced back today.

We had an amazing last 15 (overs). I think we bowled brilliantly in that phase. Mlaba came back for her second spell and was amazing. Our death plans were really good. We have been nailing our plans in the death overs really good and it was so good to see today as well.

(On that amazing catch to dismiss Tahuhu) I mean, I am just lucky that it stuck. Fielding has been our strength as we have spoken about it a lot in the group. I am glad that we fielded well as a group today on a quick outfield.

(On Tazmin Brits) She is going amazing. I think she scored 6 hundreds in the last 11 games or something, I saw on the screen. She is phenomenal to have right now in our change room. I hope that she continues to keep doing it going forward.

(On their next game vs India) Yeah, first of all, we need to enjoy today and then just like we managed to forget the first game, we need to forget this one as well. We need to start from zero every time. It's a very big game for us. We need to be fully switched on. New venue too. We will definitely do our prep and comeback hard."
Sophie Devine (New Zealand Captain): "It was a different pitch. I still feel it was a 270-280 wicket. We continuously lost wickets and couldn't have a crack at the backend. Disappointing for us today.

We have spoken about it. We have to win a lot of games. A little bit of pressure on us for the rest of the games. We know where we stand and know what we have to do. We will reflect on this game. There are still some things that went well during both innings but we know that in this competition you can't just play half a game. Disappointing but a very long way to go in this tournament.

I would have enjoyed a bit more if we won. Just really grateful and humbled that I've had the opportunity to pull on this shirt 300 times. Each and every tie I do, I just want to give my absolute best to this group of people and what it means to the people back home as well."

Tazmin Brits (Player of the Match): "It feels great. I am glad that we pulled this one through. We desperately needed this after our first game.

(On being the fastest batter to score 7 WODI Hundreds) Well, that's one for my records. When you mentioned Meg Lanning, I am glad that I am above that one but as long as we win our games, I am good.

I don't actually know. I am just backing myself even more. I am trying to be as positive as I can. We actually had a lot of batting camps. We tried not to be one dimensional. We just want to stay in it.

I just said that I will try to be as positive as I can. I will try to middle most of the deliveries. I was a new bat for me as I didn't use it before and I think that it's going to be the lucky one for me going forward.

(On her celebration after completing her 100) Well Sinalo actually interviewed us as she asked us what's our next celebration and I asked her for a few suggestions. The fifty will always remain for my dad. I had two young girls in my mind. One stays in Australia & one stays in South Africa. They come from South Africa. So, they asked me to do this. So, this celebration is for them."
