A good team performance from Lucknow Super Giants came a bit too late for the Rishabh Pant-led side this season. They have managed to complete a rare league double over Gujarat Titans. Although all four playoff spots have been booked, no one is sure of their confirmed position in the top four. Still, there is plenty to play for the teams in the top four. Tomorrow, it is an opportunity for Royal Challengers Bengaluru to dethrone GT and claim the pole position when they take the field for their final home game of the season at a neutral venue in Lucknow against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who will try their best to halt RCB’s winning momentum.
For now, this is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my beloved colleagues Pritam Dey, Ajay Pal Singh, Paras Yadav, Manish Bishnoi and Aman. We will meet again. Until then, it’s cheers!
Mitchell Marsh (Player of the Match): "Yeah, I have. I actually first played for the Deccan Chargers in 2010. So, it has been a long journey. It was nice to contribute tonight.
I think first of all, I was given the opportunity to open the batting. My partnership on and off the field with Aiden Markram has been amazing. He has made me feel really comfortable at the other end. I wanted to contribute to this franchise. Obviously we didn't have a good season as we couldn't make the finals but these last few games are really important for us as we are trying to win a few games for our franchise.
I thought they bowled really well in the powerplay. I feel in T20s, if you are 12 off 12 and not feeling great, it's panic station actually. I guess today was another good lesson of hanging in there and build up a few good partnerships.
It's been a really disappointing season for us but the IPL is a beast of a competition. We have lost a few close games. It's a hell of a tournament so you need to be at your best every single game. Any team can beat any team which is why it's the best tournament in the world."

Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants Captain): "Definitely, we talked about playing good cricket and we have shown as a team, on occasions, we can play good cricket.
See definitely, the moment. In the tournament, we had chances to get to the qualification round but it is part and parcel of the game. It is okay to take it.
See it was always the question to get top three but the way Shahrukh batted, it definitely gives them hope. We knew the target was too much for them.
See, coming into the tournament. There were lot of injury concerns. We talked about as a team that we won't complaining. The whole batting unit clicked and it was amazing to see. We lost a bit on the fielding and bowling side but these are things you can't make excuse or anything, you have to learn from it and move on."
