That's all from this contest, folks! For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
2:00 AM IST, 9:30 PM Local Time: A disappointing batting collapse from Kent’s middle and lower-middle order and Sussex came out on top with a comfortable 34-run victory.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Sussex lost Harrison Ward for 11 runs off 13 balls, but Daniel Hughes and Tom Clark scored briskly to lay a solid foundation. The pair added 82 runs for the second wicket, with Hughes falling just two runs short of his fifty. Clark also missed out on a half-century, departing for 43. He was soon followed by James Coles (12), as Sussex lost three wickets in quick succession.

The wicket of Hughes triggered a collapse for Sussex as they lost wickets in clusters and failed to make significant partnerships. However, Kent bowlers lost momentum in the last two overs and conceded 29 runs in it, allowing Sussex to post 195/9 in 20 overs.

Nathan Gilchrist shone with the ball for Kent, claiming three wickets. Joey Evison chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Fred Klaassen, Thomas Stewart Rogers, and Jack Leaning contributed a solitary wicket.

Chasing 195, Kent got off to a stuttering start, losing Tawanda Muyeye cheaply. Harry Finch’s explosive 56 off 26 balls gave them a real chance, supported by Daniel Bell-Drummond’s 26, but the middle and lower order collapsed dramatically under pressure.

Sam Billings and Jack Leaning showed glimpses of a fightback, yet regular wickets and tight bowling from Sussex, especially Danny Lamb (5/15) and Tymal Mills (3/20), stifled any hopes of a successful chase. Kent were bowled out for 161 in 19.4 overs, falling 34 runs short.

W WICKET! Danny Lamb puts the final nail in the coffin and completes his 5-fer! Back of a length slower on the stumps. Klaassen moves his front leg across and pulls at it, but misses, and the ball goes on to rattle the stumps. Sussex win by 34 runs.
