That will be all from our side as we wrap up our coverage of this Super Smash game between the Auckland Aces and Central Stags. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj alongside our Scorer/Analyst Bishal Mandal. See you soon.
Tom Bruce (Central Stags captain) : "(Whether it was a clinical performance) Yeah it was. Probably, more so on the back of the last game. It could go two ways after a game like that. We were clinical and everyone played their part.
As Solia said there is a bit of pace and bounce. Just tried to keep it as simple as possible. With the bat, whenever you are chasing a target like 140, it is just about playing strong shots."
Sean Solia (Auckland Aces Captain)- "Simon Keene did well early on in the innings but the wicket had a bit more pace and bounce on it than we expected. We didn't adjust well to it. We tried too hard and they bowled really well.
Lennox really stifled out our innings and we got nowhere in the middle overs. We know that the next half of the tournament will be important and we will look to do our best."
Jayden Lennox (Player of the Match): "(Whether he knew that he didn't concede a boundary today) I didn't. They have a powerful batting unit. It is a matter of being away from their arc.
We managed to drag them back beautifully. Assessed the conditions and then adjusted. For me, I am just looking to bowl dot balls.
Some days, it doesn't come off and some days you can contribute significantly like today. I do have a few different grips and hold it behind to not give a view to the batters. "

12:03 PM IST and 7:33 PM Local Time- The Central Stags have won by 8 wickets here and this has been an emphatic victory for them. They've thrashed the Auckland Aces with 16 balls remaining in the contest and it looked one-sided for the greater part of the run chase. Jack Boyle played an absolute gem of an innings and scored an unbeaten 82 to take his side home. He was supported ably by Tom Bruce who remained unbeaten on a well crafted 39 from 24 balls.
Curtis Heaphy and Jack Boyle got the Central Stags off to a great start. The pair did well in the early overs and got to 32 before William O'Donnell broke the partnership. Jack Boyle however continued to impress and got the Stags to 48/1 at the end of the powerplay. Interestingly enough, it was exactly what the Auckland Aces had also got in their powerplay.
Angus Olliver was the one who broke the partnership between Boyle and Dane Cleaver. It put a bit of pressure on the Stags as Boyle slowed down for a bit. However he began to accelerate post the halfway mark of the innings and upped the ante as the required run rate began to drop. He had already got to a 50 by that stage.
Tom Bruce gave good company to Jack Boyle and he managed to find the boundaries when the latter just slowed down a bit. Adithya Ashok was expensive and hence Solia needed someone else to get through his overs. With five overs remaining in the game, the Stags needed just a meagre 22 runs to march home.
William O'Donnell picked up a wicket early on while Angus Olliver was the pick of the bowlers as he gave away just 15 runs from his three overs and picked up a wicket. The spinners were largely ineffective for the Aces and it costed them big time. They were probably around 20 runs short of a par score in the first innings and that became a major point of difference during the run chase.
