That's it from our coverage of this contest. Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape live to fight another day and keep their title hopes alive as they get the better of Joburg Super Kings. They will now face Paarl Royals in the second Qualifier to determine who will face MI Cape Town for the title showdown in an epic finale.

This is Ajay Pal Singh, signing off on behalf of my colleagues Akshay Bhide, Anirudh Modi, and Paras Yadav. Goodnight and goodbye!
Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Eastern Cape Captain & POTM): "Yeah, a lot better tonight. Like I said, we haven't put on a perfect performance. We came really close tonight. Our bowlers were incredible, it became better under lights with the ball coming on.

It was more off the surface. The odd one reacted differently when you hit the pitch hard. This was the thinking. It is all about execution, you can have all the plans but it is down to the bowlers to execute those.

It was a tricky one, you want to cut loose. Little valuable knocks by Marco and Tony, these go a long way to get to a good total in the end.

Possibly, I think tomorrow it will be on a used wicket. Bowlers have to analyse their lengths. We don't have to travel, there's a perk but we have to bring our A-game."
Faf du Plessis (Joburg Super Kings Captain): "I thought we were excellent right through the tournament, with all the injuries, the bowlers really stepped up. The top line bowlers did a great job and even today they were excellent. Sipamla has been so great this year and it's cricket that gives you some nightmares. Even with the bat we were really below par through the tournament, really reliant on individual performances and that showed tonight.

After the first 2 balls, I was like it's gonna be a good wicket, I tried to adjust a bit and with 3 spinners bowling here was brilliant, and they were really good. We were confident of chasing down 180 but we could not do it.

There were 7 injuries through the season, just the character from the guys to put in a good performance. It was a fair reflection of a team that we had and compared to the team we had today, it was filled with international stars. But we need to compete even with the injuries and we are really proud of the guys.

The home games were special this year and all of us were lucky with the great support. Even outside this competion, I wish I was playing international cricket in front of this crowd. I will be there next year for sure."
Player of the Match: Aiden Markram
