Chris Lynn (Player of the Match): "We needed that spark at the top and we got a couple of chances that helped our cause. It was a tricky wicket to bat on but I still tried to take the game on. Hopefully I can continue with my form.
I tried to make the most of the powerplay. Will think about my batting position in the next game based on the conditions.
The bowlers did really well and we wanted to get over the line as quickly as possible. It's also the reason why we took the Surge early. Our coach Tim Paine has been good in planning and it helped us to turn things around.
We don't need to bowl 8 overs of leg spin but it's good to have some options in the side."

4:41 PM IST, 10:21 PM Local Time: There you go. The Adelaide Strikers get back to winning ways after suffering three losses in a row. ‘Lynnsanity’ hit the Melbourne Renegades at the Docklands Stadium. On the back of a scintillating knock from Chris Lynn, the Strikers beat the Renegades by five wickets to grab their second win of this year’s competition. This is also their first win over the Renegades while batting second.
Chris Lynn opened the batting for the Strikers and gave them a blazing start. He made full use of the fielding restrictions and scored at a brisk rate as the scoreboard at the end of the powerplay read 37/0. D’Arcy Short at the other end played the role of a second fiddle perfectly as Lynn continued his onslaught and raced to his fifty in just 31 balls.
Lynn and D’Arcy put 104 between them before the latter got cleaned up on 27 in the 11th over. Lynn fell on 88 in the next over. His 51-ball knock comprised 10 fours and four maximums. James Bazley (1) and Jake Weatherald (3) fell cheaply before Ollie Pope and skipper Alex Ross weathered the storm. Pope departed on 12 with four required to win. Ross remained unbeaten on six and took the Strikers across the line in the 18th over with five wickets in hand.
Earlier, the Renegades were put in to bat and they lost Jake Fraser-McGurk (1) and Tim Seifert (4) cheaply. Josh Brown at the top of the order played some magnificent strokes and kept going strong from one end and brought up his fifty off just 32 balls. He received good support from Jacob Bethell who scored a run-a-ball 21 before falling in the 12th over.
Brown hit five boundaries and six maximums before holing out in the deep on 41-ball 66. The Renegades fell apart after Brown’s departure and they failed to finish with a flourish. None of the lower-order batters contributed as they finished their innings on 142/9. Henry Thornton bowled beautifully for the Strikers, registering figures of 3/22. Lloyd Pope and Jamie Overton chipped in with two scalps each.

1lb LEG BYE AND THAT SHOULD BE THE WINNING RUNS FOR THE ADELAIDE STRIKERS! THEY WIN BY 5 WICKETS! It was flatter and drifting into the pads. Overton tried to tuck into the on side but he was brushed on the pads. He went for the leg bye and there was a direct hit at the stumps. He made it safely through in the end.
