That's all from us from this exhilarating knockout game between San Francisco Unicorns and Texas Super Kings. The Unicorns held their nerves and got the win by 10 runs in this run-fest. They will now take on Washington Freedom in the summit clash on Monday.
This is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar, who along with our scorer/analyst Ghanedra Singh Thakur brought you all the live updates from this fixture. We will meet again soon. Until then, it is goodbye!
Corey Anderson( San Francisco Unicorns Captain):" I think. as a whole different guys have chipped at different times, today Finn chipped and played an exceptional knock.
Whenever someone scores a 100 in T20 cricket it's gonna be special. Guys have done their roles and played their part.
Haris Rauf and Pat Cummins are world-class players It's handy to have this guy to bowl at the backend so I keep the conversation simple, and also lucky that we had a bit of extra runs on the board.
The catch of Faf just stuck in the hands, it's good to have such catches as Faf was looking really dangerous."
Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): "Look I think, starting today, we weren't at our best. We were a little bit soft. Both teams' fielding was not good today.
If you take his (Finn Allen) 100 away, no one from their side get a good score. Just not good enough skill (on what went wrong with the catching).
You can see that culture (Super Kings backing players to the tee) shining through. He (Josh Tromp) didn't have a good season, we backed him. Hopefully, he goes back, works hard and comes back again next season.
I felt it was a bit above average (on a part score). A guy that is going, needed to keep going. That one innings felt like he kept on going. If you look throughout the game, it was not the case for all the other batters. I thought 185 would be a par score. We started nicely and then there was a time in the middle, where we lost a few wickets.
I thought season 2 was played on better surfaces. The fans are coming out is amazing. We wanna come here and see people in the stands."
Finn Allen (Player of the Match):" Yeah, obviously we knew it's not gonna be easy to defend against the Texas batting lineup. It was a quality knock by Devon he has been doing it in all the tournaments, I guess it was out day. I just wanted to get deep in the crease and spend some time with Jake. The way the wicket was playing, it was difficult to hit against the back of the length deliveries so I was cashing in on the fuller length deliveries."
Most Valuable Player Of The Match: Finn Allen
Play Of The Day: Corey Anderson
Power Hitter Of The Match: Finn Allen
9:44 AM IST & 11:14 PM Local Time: It is time for the post-match presentations.
Juanoy Drysdale: "It feels great, I have made use of this opportunity. All of New York is watching its a proud moment for us. We just stuck to the basic and hit the back of the length on top of the off-stump. I liked the wicket of Marcus Stoinis. The ball was wobbling a bit so it was difficult to catch. We are gonna pop champaign and celebrate."
