For many cricketers, success arrives early; for Thomas Stewart Rogers, it came through patience, persistence, and a love for the grind. The seam bowling all-rounder from Canberra has quietly built a reputation as one of Australia’s most reliable domestic T20 performers.
Rogers came through the ACT Comets in the Futures League, spending several seasons (2013-14 to 2016-17) refining his skills in the second-tier competition. His breakthrough came when Tasmania offered him a contract ahead of the 2017–18 season.
Rogers made his List A debut for Tasmania in the JLT One-Day Cup in October 2017, and a month later, he made his first-class debut. Just before the year was about to end, Rogers made his Big Bash debut as well for Hobart Hurricanes. However, it was a forgettable match for him as he gave away 50 runs in three overs against a strong Sydney Thunder side, which consisted of batters like Joss Buttler and Shane Watson.
Over the years, in first-class cricket, Rogers has produced several standout performances, including a best of 4/9 and a string of economical spells that demonstrated his ability to extract movement off even the flattest surfaces.
He has become a familiar name in T20 leagues, representing the Hurricanes, Sydney Sixers, and later the Melbourne Renegades. For the 2025-26 BBL season, the 1994-born cricketer will again represent the Melbourne Renegades side.
In 2024, Rogers played six matches for Kent County Cricket Club in the T20 Blast competition. Later, he was re-signed again by Kent for the 2025 edition of the T20 Blast.
Away from cricket, Rogers is known for his academic side — holding degrees in Education and Arts, and working as a schoolteacher before committing fully to the game.
