Shiran Anurudha Fernando Profile, Career & Stats

Shiran Anurudha Fernando is a right-arm medium pacer who is known to generate steep bounce on any kind of surface, apart from bowling at remarkable speed. The seamer is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who has been representing the renowned Colts Cricket Club since 2015. 

At age 22, Fernando made his List A debut for the Colts during the AIA Premier Limited Over Tournament of 2015-16. The seamer took a wicket on debut and could only play a single game that season. However, the following year, he made his First-Class debut in the Premier League Tournament and received his T20 cap for the Colts during the local T20 tournament. 

The Colombo-born remained irregular for his club, until the 2020-21 season, where he performed well during the Premier T20 and One-Day Tournament for Tamil Union. The Sri Lankan got called for A-tour against Bangladesh based on domestic performances. Fernando was the highest wicket-taker against Bangladesh A and outfoxed the Tigers with his steep bounce.

In May 2021, the seamer earned his maiden international call-up for the three-match ODI tour of Bangladesh. Fernando would be aiming to have a dream debut and later become a prospect for Sri Lanka, in the coming future.
