Sam Young Profile, Career & Stats

A right-handed aggressive batsman, Sam Young joined Somerset Academy ahead of the 2017 Championship season, after progressing through Somerset Emerging Players Programme and Somerset Age Group Pathway. 

He made his England Under-19 debut in 2019 during the tri-series in Antigua, and impressed everyone with his attacking instincts.

In the same year, Young signed his first professional contract with Somerset, signing a two-year deal with the Cooper Associates County Ground. 

Young was fast tracked from a very young age. His attention to details is of the highest standard and Young will aim to break into the first team XI and eventually secure a permanent place in the squad.
