A product of the Warwickshire Academy, Manraj Singh Johal became the fifth homegrown seamer from Warwickshire in the last two years to join the senior squad. Johal has been a Bear since the U-11s and recently completed his graduation from Sandwell College.
After his graduation, the Birmingham-born seamer was promoted from the Academy to Professional cricket and signed his first pro contract last year at the age of 19. As part of the Club’s partnership with Staffordshire Cricket, Johal played two games in the National County Championship in 2019 in addition to games for Warwickshire Second XI.
An impressive spell with the second XI led to his first senior appearance in the reputed Royal London Cup. He made his List A debut against Glamorgan on July 22nd, 2021, and featured in every single game in the converted tournament since his debut.
A talented, gritty and determined cricketer, Johal has improved a lot in the past few years and is desperate to play his part for the first XI in the County Championship.
