He is best remembered as the bowler who dismissed Misbah-ul-Haq in the final of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and won India the title. A brisk medium pacer and a handy lower-order batsman, Sharma missed most of last domestic season after he was seriously injured in a road accident. However, he has recovered and is keen to get back to playing cricket.
While he started off as a regular in the Chennai Super Kings line-up, he hasn’t been able to keep his place in the side. Come IPL 2012, he will be hoping to secure his spot in the playing eleven.
