James Fuller, a South African born who initially played in New Zealand’s domestic circles, before using his British passport to sign deals with Gloucestershire, Middlesex and Hampshire. Fuller is a quick right-arm bowler who has been part of New Zealand’s Under 19 team, before migrating to the United Kingdom to play as a non-overseas cricketer.
The Cape Town-born represented New Zealand U-19s and joined a full training squad in 2010, before making his first-class debut for Otago in March that season.
A couple of months later, Fuller signed a three-year contract with Gloucestershire. Fuller made his List-A and T20 debut, in 2011, in the UK where he made an impressive maiden season but was affected with injuries though.
As his career progressed, the seamer became a vital part and was part of Gloucestershire's winning One-Day Cup campaign in 2015.
Following that season, he signed a three-year deal with Middlesex. In his maiden season for the new county, Fuller played a handy hand. One of the key performances were his five-wicket haul versus Hampshire and a famous 92* against Somerset, in 2016.
However, the cricketer got an elbow injury that ruled him out for the 2017 season.
The former New Zealand U-19 then signed with a new county in 2018. He made an immediate impact upon arriving at The Ageas Bowl, by scoring over 400 runs taking 15 wickets, across all formats.
Since then, Fuller has been a key performer for Hampshire and has cemented a spot as a middle-order batter and bowls a first-change bowler. The cricketer has a long history of injuries, starting from tip to toe, but he has bounced back with fine fitness form.
