One of the finest all-rounders in UAE, Aryan Lakra was born on December 13, 2001, in Sonepat, Haryana.
Lakra broke into the scene after being named as captain of the national team in the 2020 edition of the U-19 World Cup. He slammed 112 runs and scalped 12 wickets and announced himself in the bigger stage.
Later in the same year, the talented spinner was the recipient of a year-long contract with the Emirates Cricket Board. Soon, he was named to the senior UAE ODI squad for the Ireland series.
In the Cricket World Cup League 2 2019-2023, Lakra slammed 96 runs in his first two ODI innings.
Playing for Karwan Cricket Club in the Ramadan Cup 2022, he garnered 158 runs and took three wickets in five matches. In the Sharjah CBFS T20 League, the 20-year-old mustered 113 runs and took four wickets in five appearances.
With consistent all-round performances, the elegant allrounder made his T20I debut against Singapore in the Asia Cup Qualifier. He then featured in the bilateral home series against Bangladesh as well.
Lakra was named in the 15-member UAE squad for T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
