One of the finest spinners for the Tigers, Abdur Razzak is a former Bangladeshi cricketer. Razzakfought through the hurdles in his career and proved to be a strong force within the Bangladesh setup.
Razzak made his domestic debut in the year 2001-2002 debuting for Khulna district leading his side to their first-ever domestic title in his debut season. His breakthrough moment came in 2005 when he got his maiden call-up to Bangladesh 'A' side against Zimbabwe and picked up 15 wickets in the series.
A string of consistent performances earned him his maiden callup in the 2004 Asia Cup and scalped 3 wickets on his debut against Hong Kong but was reported a suspect action in his bowling which led to the omission of the youngster from the national side. Razzak bounced back and made his Test debut in 2006 against Australia but failed to impress and went through the series without a wicket. Despite his lacklustre performance in Tests, he remained a regular feature in the ODI squad and went onto set up quite a few wins for the side.
Again suspended from international cricket in 2008 again for suspect bowling action, he returned back the following year and showcased his skills at the highest level. After five years of dominance at the international stage, wickets dried up and he was forced out from the limited-overs side in 2014. Having played his last Test match in 2018, Razzak called off his cricketing career to take up the job of being the third senior selector in the national panel.
