Player Bio

Elsa Hunter (born 15 February 2005), also known as Elsa Siow Tzin Yee, is an Australian–Malaysian cricketer who has built a unique career straddling two cricketing worlds. After moving to Western Sydney in 2015, she quickly became a standout junior, developing her game through club cricket in Sydney and representing New South Wales at Under-19 level. Her talent was evident early, and a training opportunity arranged during a family trip to Malaysia led to her being fast-tracked into the national setup.

Hunter made her international debut at just 13 during the 2019 Thailand Women’s T20 Smash, becoming the youngest international cricketer in history at the time, male or female. She continued to progress with Malaysia, scoring her maiden WT20I fifty against Singapore in the 2022 Saudari Cup and later representing the team in the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup. Her early exposure to international cricket helped shape a calm and technically reliable top-order batting style.

Her domestic rise in Australia gained momentum soon after, culminating in a WBBL debut for the Sydney Sixers in 2024. Now part of the Sixers squad for WBBL|11, Hunter continues to develop her game in a high-performance environment while remaining an important figure for Malaysian cricket. Her story is one of opportunity, dual identity, and rapid development—an emerging talent still only at the beginning of her professional journey.
