Player Bio

An emerging right-handed batter and equally brilliant slow left-arm orthodox, Muditha Lakshan, first broke the headlines when he scored a flourishing 81 in a Golds One Day encounter against Mahanama College in 2018.

Lakshan is a by-product of Colombo’s D.S. Senanayake College and has captained his college team for two years, where he scored more than 1000 runs in two successive seasons. The all-rounder soon got fast-tracked when he was named in the Nugegoda Sports Welfare Club squad for the 2020-21 Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament.

The Colombo-born first introduced himself in the domestic competition when he made his List A debut in March 2021. The all-rounder was impressive with both bat and ball in his maiden domestic tournament when he finished as the highest run-scorer for the club and broke some crucial partnerships with the ball as well.

Later in that season, Lakshan was named in the SLC Reds team for the 2021 SLC Invitational T20 League tournament. The all-rounder has a brief sample size but in those limited outings, he has showcased his mantle and hinted that he is one for the future, if nourished well.
