Touted as the next star of Nepalese cricket, Rohit Paudel is a young and talented batting allrounder who was a part of Nepal’s u-19 setup for the 2016 World Cup. Paudel previously came close to breaking the world record when he made his ODI debut aged 15 years and 335 days back in August 2018, becoming the fourth-youngest player to do so.
Nevertheless, The teenage sensation has already etched his name in the cricketing history book, becoming the youngest cricketer to strike a half-century at the international stages that was later shattered by his teammate, Kushal Malla in February 2020. Against UAE, he brought up his maiden fifty in January 2019 and by doing so, Paudel broke Sachin Tendulkar’s 29-year-old record.
The 19-year-old first came into prominence when he struck the Indian upcoming speedster, Nagarkoti for 24 runs in 5 balls in an u-19 ODI match in 2016. Since the early parts of 2020, Paudel is yet to feature in an international fixture but his talent is hard to ignore and it’s about time he makes a comeback to the national squad.
