Player Bio

Beau Webster burst onto the scene with dominant performances in the Tasmanian Premier League in 2013-14. Standing tall at 200 meters, Webster is a batting all-rounder who has a lot of expectations on his name.

Born and brought up in Tasmania, the all-rounder is a former AFL draftee for the Tassie Mariners at the Under-18 level before choosing the cricket path. He is a product of the state's age-group system, before earning a Tigers Rookie contract.

At 20, in 2013-14, Webster amassed 677 runs at 45.13 for his local side Kingborough, which led him to grab his Rookie contract for his first-class debut the season after. Then, the prolific youngster also got picked by the Hobart Hurricanes for the Big Bash League, but warmed the benches for the first couple of seasons.

In 2016, he finally got a chance to play and showed his mettle in a few games before Melbourne Renegades picked him during the transfer window of BBL|07. He shone the brightest with the Reb club, where he showcased his calibre to use the long reach and swinging arc to clear the boundary.

Four seasons later, Webster made the cross-town move to the Melbourne Stars. His ability with the bat remains unparalleled, while he can also bowl off-spin and medium pace. All these make him a rare commodity going around the world.

Beau Webster's 2023 season was a breakthrough year that cemented his status as one of Australia's most dynamic all-rounders. Representing Essex in the One-Day Cup, he stood out as both the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker for the side, underlining his rare ability to influence matches with both bat and ball. His performances earned him a place with Gloucestershire for the 2024 English domestic season.

Back home, Webster lit up the 2023–24 Sheffield Shield, delivering one of the most remarkable all-round campaigns in the competition’s history. He amassed 938 runs at an impressive average of 58.62 and took 30 wickets at 29.30, becoming only the second player after the legendary Garfield Sobers to achieve the rare double of 900+ runs and 30 wickets in a single Shield season. For his extraordinary efforts, he was rightfully named Player of the Series.

In October 2024, Webster delivered a career-best performance in List A cricket, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul with stunning figures of 6/17— a spell that triggered an incredible collapse, as Western Australia lost eight wickets for just 1 run.

Continuing his rise, Webster signed with Warwickshire in January 2025 for a three-month stint in the County Championship, further expanding his global cricketing footprint. That same month, he received a call-up to the Australian Test squad during the India series as injury cover for Mitchell Marsh. Seizing the opportunity, he made his Test debut in the fifth Test at the SCG, where he top-scored in the first innings with the only half-century of either side— a calm and composed knock that hinted at his readiness for the international stage.

Later in January 2025, his consistent performances were rewarded with a place in Australia's squad for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, as he continues to emerge as a key figure in the national setup.

With a unique ability to dominate both with bat and ball, he has quickly become a vital asset in every format. His performances at the domestic and international levels hint at a promising future. As he continues to evolve, Webster stands poised to become a cornerstone of Australian cricket for years to come.
