While the cricket fans are still buzzing about Finn Allen's stunning performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final, one person who is not surprised by his brilliance is Jhanvi Mehta, Juhi Chawla's Daughter.

The young co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) said she had been following Finn Allen's journey long before his record-breaking century that grabbed global headlines in T20 World Cup 2026.

Finn Allen smashed an unbeaten 100 off just 33 balls to guide New Zealand to a dominant nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

The match took place at Eden Gardens, where New Zealand chased down the target with 43 balls to spare.

His blistering innings also broke the record previously held by Chris Gayle for the fastest century in the tournament's history. Finn Allen’s knock helped New Zealand to secure a spot in the World Cup final against the India.

Looking at the stats, Fill Allen has played 7 innings in the global tournament, scoring 289 runs at an average of 57.80 and a strike rate of 203.52.

Juhi Chawla's daughter backed Finn Allen during KKR days

Jhanvi Mehta, the daughter of actor Juhi Chawla and businessman Jay Mehta, has been actively involved with the KKR franchise, which is also co-owned by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.

During the IPL 2026 auction in December last year, Jhanvi Mehta spoke about how she first noticed Finn Allen while watching Major League Cricket in the United States.

“So, Finn Allen, I watched him in MLC (Major League Cricket) in Oakland (California, US) actually, where he was playing for the San Francisco Unicorns, when he smacked us around the field that day. I still remember that,” said Jhanvi, right after the 2026 IPL Auction.

Since then, she has closely followed Finn Allen’s performances for New Zealand and in various T20 leagues around the world.

According to Jhanvi, the New Zealand opener always had enormous potential, even though he did not get a long run during his earlier stint with the RCB in the IPL.

“I’ve seen him for years now, when he’s been coming, playing for New Zealand, also playing for RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru). Never really had a long run in the IPL, but just the way he’s lit up world cricket this year, I think it’s a testament to his potential and we’re seeing glimpses of what he can bring. His ceiling is one of the highest in the world in terms of explosiveness,” said Jhanvi Mehta.

It is important to mention that Finn Allen was signed by the KKR for ₹2 crore during the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
