After losing the qualifier 1 to RCB, Gujarat Titans are preparing to take on Rajasthan Royals in qualifier 2 of the IPL 2026. The high-voltage clash will be played at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh. 

Shubman Gill has been phenomenal in the IPL 2026, amassing 618 runs in 14 innings at an average of 44.14 and a blistering strike rate of 159.28. As he is in the form of his life, Gill is expected to play a key role for the Titans in the knockout fixture.

As evidenced by the above stats, Shubman Gill has played 18 matches against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. He has scored 614 runs at a healthy average of 43.86 and a strike rate of 136.44. 

These numbers suggest that Shubman Gill's record against Rajasthan Royals is good, as he has mostly enjoyed his time in the middle. 

Although there's room for improvement in his strike rate, Gill has consistently scored runs whenever he has come up against the Royals in the IPL.

Gill has played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans in the IPL. He has been more prolific while representing the Titans than the Knight Riders against RR, scoring 416 runs in just nine matches at a superb average of 52 and a strike rate of 144.44.

Shubman Gill's record against Rajasthan Royals suggests that the stylish right-hander has clobbered three half-centuries in his last four outings versus the Pink Army. 

The last time GT took on RR, Gill scripted their emphatic triumph with a belligerent knock of 84 runs off just 44 deliveries. Considering these facts, Gill is expected to be a key performer for his side in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2026.

Interestingly, Shubman Gill's record at Mullanpur Stadium isn't great, and this is an area Rajasthan Royals would love to exploit. Gill has batted thrice at the venue, managing only 75 runs at a modest average of 25 and a strike rate of 129.31. 

The pitch at Mullanpur generally offers a hint of seam movement to the fast bowlers early on. Furthermore, given that Jofra Archer has been Gill's nemesis for a long time, his match-up with the English superstar will more or less decide the outcome of the match. 

Archer has dismissed Gill thrice in 30 deliveries while conceding only 36 runs in the IPL. While he loves to make the batters fall into his trap by hitting the back-of-the-length, it won't be surprising if the RR pacer adopts a traditional route and pitches the ball up against Gill in the powerplay. 

Although Shubman Gill's record against Rajasthan Royals speaks volumes for his consistency, the GT skipper must be keen to improve his numbers at the Mullanpur Stadium. Jofra Archer will undoubtedly be the biggest threat to him, and Gill would like to negotiate his first few overs before shifting gears.
