Jamaica Kingsmen secured a seven-run victory (DLS method) against Trinbago Knight Riders at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain on August 30, 2026.
The star of the match was West Indies spinner Vitel Lawes, who dismantled the Knight Riders with a clinical spell, registering excellent figures of 3 for 29 in four overs and achieving a feat that even a talisman like Sunil Narine hasn't done in CPL history.
Trinbago was in a commanding position after Colin Munro and Sunil Narine made 101(53) without losing any wickets. However, Vitel Lawes turned the game around in the 14th over.
Vitel Lawes Joins The Exclusive Triple-Wicket Maiden Club
In a remarkable feat, Vitel Lawes joined the exclusive club of bowlers who have a triple-wicket maiden in CPL history. He unlocked the landmark during the Kingsmen's most recent encounter against TKR, dismissing Colin Munro, Kieron Pollard and Matthew Tromp in a single over, where he didn't concede a run.
It is important to mention that Colin Munro and Sunil Narine made 101 runs in 53 balls. Munro made 52 runs in 42 balls at a strike rate of 123.81, and on the other hand, Narine scored 53 runs off 24 balls at a strike rate of 220.83.
However, then came Vitel Lawes and took things away from them. He removed Munro with the first delivery, dismissed Kieron Pollard with the next ball and then sent back Matthew Tromp from the final delivery of the over.

His valiant effort reduced TKR from 101/0 to 120/4 in no time and gave Jamaica the momentum they needed.
Bowlers With A Triple-Wicket Maiden In CPL
Vitel Lawes' extraordinary over placed him among a small group of bowlers to claim a triple-wicket maiden in CPL history. The list belongs to an exclusive group of four bowlers that does not even include the name of Sunil Narine.
It is important to mention that the first player to attain this record was Shakib Al Hasan in 2013, followed by Kesrick Williams in 2016.

Lawes did not allow the Knight Riders to recover easily after that over. However, Nicholas Pooran restored some control and managed to make 60 runs off 37 balls at a strike rate of 162.16. Despite his late assault, TKR finished on 180/6.
Jamaica Kingsmen Hold Their Nerves As Lawes' spell comes in a winning cause
Chasing 181, Jamaica lost Maaz Sadaqat early for 12 runs, but Kirk McKenzie kept the innings moving with 30 from 25 balls. Keacy Carty then played an important knock of 42 from 33 balls at a strike rate of 127.27.
Rain interrupted the chase in the ninth over, with Jamaica on 54/1. The delay lasted around an hour, but no overs were lost after play resumed. Carty and Saim Ayub helped Jamaica regain control, with boundaries arriving regularly during the middle overs.
Jamaica eventually reached 127/3 in 14.4 overs when another heavy shower stopped play. At that stage, the Kingsmen were seven runs ahead of the DLS par score.
The rain did not stop, and the officials eventually called off the match, with Jamaica declared winners by seven runs under the DLS method.
