Manchester Super Giants openers Tim Seifert and Paul Walter showed no mercy to Sunrisers Leeds on Tuesday in Match 30 of the The Hundred Men 2026 at Emirates Old Trafford. In the process, they reached new heights in The Hundred Men's all-time partnership record.

Seifert and Walter made 128 runs off 68 balls against Sunrisers Leeds bowlers, led by Abrar Ahmed and Nathan Ellis. Even though Ellis was extremely economical, having conceded only 18 runs off 20 balls, the others were dispatched left, right and centre by Manchester Super Giants openers.

Seifert remained not out on 80 off 40 balls, with seven sixes and five fours. On the other hand, Walter made 44 off 28 deliveries, which included three sixes and as many fours.

The Hundred Record Books Rewritten By Tim Seifert and Paul Walter

Earlier in The Hundred Men 2026, Ryan Rickelton and Mitchell Marsh, who play for Sunrisers Leeds, notched up the highest partnership in the competition’s history for any wicket. Tim Seifert and Paul Walter found themselves in second place, with 20 runs fewer than Marsh and Rickelton’s.

Importantly, Rickelton and Marsh’s partnership was broken, while Seifert and Walter did so without losing their wickets. The target for them was only 128, which did not allow them to go beyond the partnership on Tuesday.

With that, Tim Seifert ended The Hundred 2026 league stage on a flying note, having made three 50-or-more scores in three consecutive innings. He averaged 53.67 in the edition, with 322 runs overall after 8 knocks, striking at 165.98.

Paul Walter, on the other hand, has had three opportunities to shine in The Hundred Men 2026. He crossed the 35-run mark on all three occasions, with a 32-ball 64 against Southern Brave on August 8 being his best of all.

The Hundred Playoffs Fight Is On

It was a crucial match for both Manchester Super Giants and Sunrisers Leeds, who were in second and third places on The Hundred Men 2026 points table. The thumping win helped Super Giants, led by Jos Buttler, boost a solid net run rate (NRR), while Sunrisers, who had a superb NRR throughout the competition, took a major hit.

Trent Rockets have already qualified for the final, with 24 points, which has helped them to top the chart. The Super Giants are currently placed second, having 20 points and a +0.791. Sunrisers, despite the big defeat, have +0.603 with the same number of points.

MI London and Welsh Fire, who have got 16 points each, are still in the race. They will be in action on Wednesday, against two already-eliminated sides, London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix, respectively.
