Maaz Sadaqat Dethrones Saim Ayub For Majestic Pakistan Record In CPL History

Pakistan all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat played a magnificent knock in the CPL 2026, as he powered Jamaica Kingsmen to a clinical nine-wicket win over Barbados Tridents. Batting first, the Tridents set a modest target of 145 runs, which the Kingsmen chased comfortably in 14.1 overs, riding on Sadaqat's scintillating century. 

Opening the batting for Jamaica Kingsmen, Maaz Sadaqat hammered 112 runs off just 49 balls with the help of nine boundaries and eight sixes. His valiant effort helped the Kingsmen secure a victory in the Eliminator and qualify for the Qualifier 2 of the CPL 2026.

The left-handed batter thus scripted a historic feat, dethroning Saim Ayub on an elite list of Pakistan batters. 

Maaz Sadaqat registers highest score by a Pakistan batter in CPL history

Maaz Sadaqat's 112 for Jamaica Kingsmen against the Barbados Tridents is now the highest individual score by a Pakistan batter in CPL history. He surpassed the dynamic Saim Ayub, who recently struck a blazing knock of 102 runs for the same franchise against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

As evidenced by the above data, former captain Shoaib Malik's blistering 81* against Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL 2014 remained the highest score by a Pakistan batter in the CPL until Mohammad Rizwan broke it eleven years later in an encounter against Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Saim Ayub eclipsed Rizwan and became the first Pakistan batter to smash a CPL hundred in the 2026 edition. But Maaz Sadaqat not only joined him on the list of Pakistani centurions in the CPL but also registered a new highest individual score with a stunning 112-run innings.

Maaz Sadaqat becomes youngest centurion in CPL history

Apart from setting the highest score by a Pakistan batter in the CPL, Maaz Sadaqat also became the youngest batter to slam a hundred in the tournament's history. He achieved the milestone aged 21 years and 124 days, going past Shimron Hetmyer, who did it at the age of 21 years and 235 days.

Sadaqat's 112 off 49 is now the highest individual score for the Jamaica-based franchise after it was rebranded as 'Kingsmen' from 'Tallawahs'.

The opening batter completed his century in just 44 deliveries, registering the fastest hundred by a Pakistani batter in CPL history. 

Maaz Sadaqat would like to replicate CPL success for Pakistan

Known for his aggressive intent and fearless batting approach, Maaz Sadaqat has showcased red-hot form in the CPL 2026. The 21-year-old batter has amassed 208 runs in five innings at an average of 41.60 and a strike rate of 156.39. 

The left-hander had a torrid run when he last played for Pakistan in the Australia home series. While the Men in Green emerged victorious in the series, Sadaqat managed only 35 runs in three innings. 

Therefore, he would be keen to replicate his CPL success in international cricket and bounce back with a more impactful performance for Pakistan.
