Making an unprecedented record, Himachal Pradesh batter Paras Dogra has become the second player after former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer to score 10,000 runs in the Ranji Trophy history.

The Jammu and Kashmir captain, Paras Dogra, is currently playing in the Ranji Trophy and has now joined an elite list by becoming only the second player after Wasim Jaffer to achieve this feat in the tournament's 92-year history.

Paras Dogra’s Rich Legacy In Domestic Cricket

Paras Dogra, who earlier played for teams like Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders during the inaugural editions of the Indian Premier League, has 151 first-class matches to his name, scoring over 10,450 runs at an average of 48.15, including 34 centuries and 35 half-centuries.

The first-class veteran has also played 130 List A matches, scoring 3,751 runs. Paras Dogra has been one of the heaviest run-scorers in the Indian domestic circuit.

The 41-year-old had his best Ranji season in 2012-13, when he notched five centuries in eight matches for Himachal Pradesh. Dogra's form at that time led selectors to include him in the India A squad for a series of unofficial Tests in 2013 against the West Indies A side.

Nevertheless, Dogra never made it to the international circuit and continued to pile up runs in domestic cricket. In the 2015-16 season, he registered the sixth and seventh double hundreds of his career and ended the season with 703 runs at an average of 78.11.

Though his T20 appearances were not as impressive, his red-ball performances certainly caught the attention of many selectors.

Paras Dogra Enjoys Solid Run After Breaking Ranji Record

The 1984-born cricketer is currently enjoying another strong season, which has helped him cross the 10,000-run mark in the Ranji Trophy after Wasim Jaffer. Batting at number four in the second semi-final of the Ranji Trophy Elite 2025-26, Dogra scored 58 in Jammu and Kashmir's first innings off 112 deliveries, including seven boundaries.

He put up resistance after Jammu and Kashmir were struggling at 13 for 2. He stitched a crucial partnership with Abdul Samad and reached the milestone with the 11th run of his innings in his 147th Ranji Trophy appearance.

Wasim Jaffer, who still holds the record, has 12,038 runs in the Ranji Trophy, and Paras Dogra has now become only the second player to cross the 10,000-run mark in the competition.

Dogra Boasts Solid Form In Ranji Trophy 2025-26

As the second semi-final continues, Paras Dogra's form this season has also been impressive. With two centuries and three half-centuries, Dogra averages 45.17 from 13 innings in the Ranji Trophy this season. His 542 runs have come at a strike rate of 52.32, as the veteran continues to deliver for Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir, who topped the Group D table alongside Mumbai, are currently facing Bengal in the second semi-final and will be eager to put up a strong fight. They trail by 130 runs at the end of day two with five wickets down.

If Jammu and Kashmir manage to defeat Bengal, they will face the winner of the Karnataka versus Uttarakhand match in the Final on February 24.
