Flower, whose career lasted nearly 11 years, scored 6786 in 213 matches at an average of 35.34, with four hundreds and 55 half-centuries to his name.
Meanwhile, Taylor broke Flower's record after just 211 ODI matches. Although his average in the format is nearly as good as Flower's, he smacked 11 tons and 40 fifties in the format.

Brendan Taylor becomes 2nd-oldest Zimbabwean with fifty in ODIs
Not just that, Brendan Taylor also created another historic milestone for Zimbabwe during the BAN vs ZIM clash in Abu Dhabi. As he smacked his 40th half-century in the format, he became the second-oldest Zimbabwean batter with a fifty in the format.
At 40 years and 253 days, he sits second to Craig Ervine, who became the oldest half-centurion in ODI cricket against Australia earlier in September.
Meanwhile, Taylor broke Sikandar Raza's record, who registered during the same series as Ervine, at the age of 40 years and 149 days.
In the overall list, among full-member nation players, the 40-year-old batter sits on the fourth position, after Ervine, Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi and Mishab ul Haq of Pakistan.
Nevertheless, at the time of writing, Zimbabwe are at 139 for the loss of three wickets after 28 overs, with Taylor batting cruising towards the three-figure mark and Ervine on 45*.
