Pakistan Accuse T20 World Cup Match-Fixing (Source: X)
Indian fans breathed a sigh of relief on Thursday (February 26) when South Africa made a mockery of a T20 World Cup Super 8 clash against the West Indies with a thumping nine-wicket victory at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Coming to chase a challenging 177, Aiden Markram led from the front, smashing 82 not out off just 46 balls, to do India a huge favour ahead of their T20 World Cup match against Zimbabwe, taking place in Chennai.
With a shocking 76-run defeat to South Africa, the Men in Blue were in all sorts of trouble before the West Indies versus South Africa clash. Given the fact that the West Indies too had a big-margin victory over Zimbabwe in the Super 8, a victory for the Caribbean side could make India’s lives worse.
Thankfully, the result did not go in the favour of the West Indies, who fought valiantly to stage a comeback from 83/7 to 176/8, only to see it all go in vain.
Pakistan Fans React After SA’s Win Over WI
No wonder, Pakistan fans took to social media to accuse Jay Shah, the current ICC chairman. They even claimed the ICC is equal to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the national cricket board of India. Given that Jay Shah was the BCCI’s secretary before, the accusations, which actually made no sense at all, came all over the place.

Here are some of the reactions on social media from Pakistan fans, as well as a few banter from Indian people, who knew it would come moments when the West Indies crumbled under pressure.

Pakistan Almost Out Of T20 World Cup 2026
Coming to Pakistan’s status in the T20 World Cup 2026, the Men in Green are one step away from being knocked out of the tournament. Their first-match in the Super 8 stage against New Zealand was washed out due to rain, and to make matters worse, England handed them a two-wicket defeat in the following game, courtesy of Harry Brook masterclass.
As things stand, England have already qualified for the T20 World Cup semi-final. New Zealand have three points from two matches with a spectacular net run rate of +3.050. Pakistan, on the other hand, have -0.46, and they must register a significant victory over Sri Lanka to topple New Zealand.
Not only that, England must defeat New Zealand on Friday to keep Pakistan’s hopes alive, as the Harry Brook-led side have already qualified for the knockouts, and New Zealand will join them, making the Sri Lanka versus Pakistan match a dead-rubber.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will meet on Saturday in Pallekele, while England versus New Zealand will face each other a day before in Colombo.
