Auqib Nabi gets fan praise on the internet [Source: X]
The cheers are pouring in for Jammu and Kashmir talent Auqib Nabi, who has grabbed headlines this Ranji Trophy 2025–26 season. The 1996-born pacer has been the premier bowler for his side and is currently wreaking havoc with his spell in the Ranji Trophy Final against Karnataka.
Even national star KL Rahul bent his knees in front of Nabi, who has been receiving loud calls for a national team call-up soon. The 29-year-old has 40 first-class matches under his belt but is yet to feature for India. However, with the social media uproar behind him, it seems Auqib Nabi’s opportunity may not be far away.
What Did Auqib Nabi Do In The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 Final?
Nabi, the searing right-arm pacer for Jammu Kashmir, who is currently the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament, is on a roll. With consistency his only yardstick of excellence, his line and length across different venues have outdone batters on multiple occasions.
It was KL Rahul who was hunted down first during Karnataka's first innings against Jammu Kashmir, who had put up a total of 584 runs in their first innings.
Coming in to bat, KL Rahul, who is known for his classy and trademark outings and is often reliable in difficult situations, was dismissed by Nabi on the second ball of the 11th over.
Rahul was beaten by a length ball outside off stump that shaped away late, as Rahul got squared up and was beaten all ends up. The edge was confirmed by the TV umpire, and the batter had to walk back.
However, it did not end with Rahul alone. Later, two more batting sensations from Karnataka, Karun Nair and Smaran Ravichandran, were also left bamboozled by Nabi's spell.

On the fifth delivery of the 18th over, Auqib Nabi cleaned up Karun Nair with an absolute peach, searing in at 134.3 kmph. He delivered a ball that Karun failed to read, and it crashed into the stumps.
On the very next ball, Smaran was gone to an absolute ripper. A length ball outside off stump was poked at by Ravi Chandran as it caught the outside edge and was carried to the wicketkeeper.

Netizens Praise Nabi’s Consistency
Three crucial wickets from Nabi already set the tone for Jammu and Kashmir's near Ranji Trophy-winning maiden appearance, with Karnataka still trailing by a massive 400-plus runs while being 4 wickets down
Netizens were pretty appreciative of this spell from Auqib Nabi and backed his brilliant spell and consistency to urge his call-up into the national team.
Let’s take a look at how the internet reacted to Nabi’s sensational spell in the Ranji Trophy Final:

The Red Hot Form Of The Latest Pace Sensation
Auqib Nabi has been the face of world-class bowling this Ranji season. Making his first-class debut in 2020, Auqib’s consistency has been his trademark.
In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Nabi picked up 15 wickets from seven appearances and followed it up with a 14-wicket haul in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In the ongoing Ranji Trophy Final, Nabi has scalped 58 wickets for Jammu and Kashmir at an economy rate of 2.67 while striking at 27.00 in the red-ball format.
Except for a match against Puducherry in Hyderabad, all of Nabi’s spells have produced two or more wickets per match, underlining his consistency. He has four 5-wicket hauls so far in this tournament and two 4-wicket hauls, highlighting his potential as a major threat with the ball.
Why is The Jammu Pacer So Lethal?
Nabi is particularly special for his ability to generate late movement with the ball against both right- and left-handed batters. He can swing the ball both ways and has an almost biomechanically perfect bowling action, with reverse swing and cutter variations as his primary weapons in his arsenal.
Although he had been overlooked for several years in IPL auctions despite his elite-level stats in first-class and List A cricket, Auqib Nabi’s breakthrough 2025 season led Delhi Capitals to sign him for ₹8.40 crore in the IPL 2026 auction, making him a sensational player to watch in the tournament.
