On Saturday, October 31, Pakistan and Sri Lanka locked horns against each other for the all-important Tri-Series final. The Men in Green dealt a heavy blow as their star all-rounder Shadab Khan has been left out of the playing XI.

At the toss, Shaheen Afridi won the coin flip and opted to field first. Afridi confirmed Shadab's absence and revealed that Faheem Ashraf  has replaced Khan for the final. The fans are curious about the exclusion and this article will shed light on that.

Why is Shadab Khan not playing in Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Tri-Series final?

Notably, at the toss, Shaheen Afridi revealed that Shadab Khan has fallen sick, which is why he has been left out of the playing XI.  "Shadab is not feeling well, so Faheem is in," Shaheen remarked at the toss.

It is worth noting that Shadab also missed the first two matches of the series because he was unwell. Shaheen Afridi didn't reveal the details of Khan's illness but it seems that his health has relapsed.

"Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the final against Sri Lanka, scheduled to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore later today due to medical reasons following being struck by a bouncer in the fifth ODI against Sri Lanka," the PCB said in a press release.

Pakistan Make Just One Change In Playing XI

Shadab Khan's exclusion is the only change that Pakistan have made for the Tri-Series final. Talking about Faheem Ashraf, he played the first two matches of the series when Shadab was out of the team.

Notably, Ashraf scored 45 runs in 2 innings, averaging 22.50. He also took two wickets in two innings with the ball. Meanwhile, Pakistan will heavily miss Shadab, who single-handedly won a game for the Men in Green against England, where he scored 113 (96).

Pakistan's Playing XI for Tri-Series Final:  Maaz Sadaqat, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Saad Baig (wk), Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Arafat Minhas, Shaheen Afridi (c), Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf
