In the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 match between Zimbabwe and Australia, the Sikandar Raza-led side have scripted history as they beat the 2021 World Cup winners by 21 runs to make it two in two in this tournament. Meanwhile, Tony Munyonga has hogged the headlines for his sensational fielding effort.
Notably, the side from Africa, batting first, put 169/2 on the board. In reply, Australia lost four early wickets but Glenn Maxwell and Matt Renshaw stitched a crucial 77-run partnership for the 5th wicket. Meanwhile, Tony Munyonga became the talking point after he took the crucial wicket of Ben Dwarshuis with a stunning grab near the boundary ropes.

On the 4th ball of the 18th over, Ben Dwarshuis slammed a shot for a boundary but Tony Munyonga made a diving effort and took a stunner under pressure. It was the catch of his life because Zimbabwe were the underdogs against Australia and it was his effort that ensured the side from Africa extended their winning record in the tournament.
The players too ran towards the boundary rope to celebrate the catch with Tony.
Zimbabwe fielding standards the best so far
With the win, Zimbabwe are now placed second on group B with four points, only behind Sri Lanka, who have better net run-rate than the Sikandar Raza-led side. In the first match, Zimbabwe beat Oman by a handsome eight-wicket win.
In that match, Zimbabwe restricted Oman to just 103 runs. In that match, the fielders maintained high standards and Brian Bennett also took a similar catch. Bennett too took a catch at the deep mid-wicket and a similar diving effort.
The ball was travelling quickly as the fielder timed his run to perfection as he moved towards his right and flew in the air to pluck a stunner out of nowhere to end the Oman innings. He lost his balance, but managed to keep the ball in his hands as he took one of the best catches of the tournament.
Notably, Bennett ran around 20 metres to complete that catch and bring Oman's innings to en end.

This tournament has seen several brilliant catches and Tony's efforts will definitely be among the contenders. Notably, besides Tony and Bennett, several other players have also taken some brilliant catches.
Shimron Hetmyer took the catch of the T20 World Cup as he dismissed Scotland’s George Munsey with a stunner. The southpaw miscued his half-attempted pull shot as Hetmyer, standing at deep square leg, came charging in and leaped to his right to grab a world-class catch.
Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi were involved in a brilliant relay catch against the Netherlands. Dutch batter, Michael Levitt, miscued a lofted shot as the ball sailed towards the long-off region.
