The Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) is just around the corner, and all teams are already into their pre-season camps with the whole squad assembled. The inaugural IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals, have curated a notch above squad for this season, which has a young blood like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and the a veteran in Ravindra Jadeja.
RR have made pretty changes after finishing at the bottom of the table last season, starting with letting of their former skipper Sanju Samson and trading in Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in return from the Chennai Super Kings.
The bold move of bringing in the two all-rounders Jadeja and Curran seems like a bold one, but the Rajasthan Royals still have ample to cover on the drawing board ahead of the IPL 2026. But later about that!
Vaibhav Suryavanshi vs Ravi Jadeja battle!
As the RR side has started their nets in Jaipur, Ravindra Jadeja had a warm welcome during his first net sessions with the Royals. The star Indian all-rounder was seen bowling to RR’s openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryavanshi, for the season.
In a video shared by the franchise, the canny Jadeja faced some troubles in the nets while bowling to the young prodigy.

The 14-year-old started by fending out a yorker from Jadeja, before whacking him over covers for a maximum. Even though the IPL veteran had Suryavanshi holed out at deep next ball, Suryavanshi wasn’t afraid of motoring a boundary through extra cover.
The 37-year-old, then, tossed the next ball up but bowled a wide delivery, but cramped him to get him caught near deep square leg. Suryavanshi was then seen slogging Jadeja down the ground for a maximum at the end of the video.

Ravindra Jadeja's grand return to RR
Ravindra Jadeja was a part of the Rajasthan Royals during the inaugural season, where the late Shane Warne-led unit lifted the first-ever IPL trophy. Even though the all-rounder wasn't used much as a bowler, but he was impeccable as a lower middle order batter and as a gun fielder. Later Warne nicknamed Jadeja "Superstar".
The spin all-rounder was with RR for one more season, before he migrated to Kochi Tusckers and then to CSK, where he was from 2012-15 and 2018-25. He also had a two-year stint with the now defunct Gujarat Lions when the Chennai franchise faced a ban.
After 17 years, Ravindra Jadeja has reunited with his first IPL franchise, who haven't won any silverware since their breakup. Jadeja will now look to help RR win at least one title using his indispensable experience.
The rise of Vaibhav Suryavanshi!
Vaibhav Suryavanshi became a household name last season after scoring the second-fastest IPL ton against the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur. Since then, a lot has changed for the teenager. He was fast-tracked into India’s Under-19 set-up, along with major waves in the domestic circles.
Not only was the 14-year-old a part of the U19 World Cup-winning Indian team, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi also smacked an 80-ball 175 in the final, which led India U19 to post 411/9 on the board against England U19.
Now, in the absence of Samson, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will get to open in all the matches for the Royals, where he will form a fire-to-fire opening pair with another fiery left-handed opener, Jaiswal.
