Uttar Pradesh star Shiva Singh picked up a unique hat-trick in match number 27 of the UP T20 2026 season. Taking on the Meerut Mavericks at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on August 31, the Noida Kings cricketer picked up sensational bowling figures of 5-6 from his two overs.
The 26-year-old claimed three of those wickets in successive deliveries by dismissing Akshay Dubey, Divyansh Joshi and Dinesh Kumar. Interestingly, Shiva’s hat trick was spread across two different overs of the Meerut Mavericks, thus making it a unique feat very rarely seen in the game.

Shiva Singh bowled out his quota of two overs for the Noida Kings in their five-overs-a-side league fixture against table toppers Meerut Mavericks on Monday, August 31.
Tasked to bowl the third over of the Mavericks innings, the cricketer conceded five runs off his first four deliveries courtesy of a boundary from Ishu Sharma. However, Shiva fought back with the crucial wickets of Akshay Dubey and Divyansh Joshi to finish off his opening over on a strong note.

With two wickets in two balls to his name, the 26-year-old also bowled the final over of the Mavericks innings. Off his first ball of the final over, the wily left-arm spinner knocked over Dinesh Kumar with a length delivery into the middle-off stump.
Shiva Singh also dismissed Rahul Rajpal and Yuvraj Nagar to complete a sensational five-wicket haul, conceding just six runs off his two overs. His spell helped the Noida Kings restrict the Meerut Mavericks to just 33-7 from their allotted five overs in Kanpur.
With his latest spell, the Uttar Pradesh cricketer picked up the first hat-trick of the ongoing UP T20 2026 season.
Shiva Singh steers Noida Kings into the UP T20 League 2026 playoffs
Shiva Singh was fittingly adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his match-winning five-wicket haul against the Meerut Mavericks on Monday, August 31.
His spell not only orchestrated Noida Kings’ comprehensive five-wicket win (DLS method), but it also consigned table-toppers Meerut Mavericks to their first defeat of the UP T20 2026 season.
Moreover, the Kings also became only the third side of the season to qualify for the UP T20 2026 playoffs, finishing their 10 matches with five wins and five defeats to be placed third on the six-team points table.
When Shiva Singh conceded seven sixes in one over
Just a few years ago, the left-arm spinner was taken to the cleaners by CSK captain and Maharashtra veteran Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Bowling for the Uttar Pradesh team in the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy, the cricketer leaked 43 runs off one over, which included seven sixes by Gaikwad. Shiva bowled one no ball in the over, with the Maharashtra batter maximizing the spinner’s error to the fullest.
From conceding seven sixes in an over to taking a hat-trick in a five-overs-a-side T20 game, Shiva Singh has completed a remarkable turnaround in his career, underlining his resilience and ability to bounce back from setbacks.
