In a significant development, a massive controversy in 2nd ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka. Salman Ali Agha was at the receiving end as the T20I captain lost his wicket in the most bizarre way.
Pakistan, batting first, were cruising towards a comfortable target. Despite losing three wickets, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha stitched a crucial 109-run stand for the fourth wicket. The Men in Green were on the verge of shifting gears which is when Agha's school-boy error resulted in a never-seen before run-out in cricket.
Salman Agha Gets Run-Out For Handling The Ball
The incident occurred on the 4th ball of the 39th over when Mohammad Rizwan played a shot down the ground off Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz's bowling. The shot had no power and Salman Agha, who was on the other end, was out of the crease and the ball hit him on the pads.
Agha bowed to pick the ball up, but Miraz used his presence of mind and quickly dislodged the bails as he caught Agha out of his crease. The umpire too raised his finger as he saw no foul play there. Salman Agha was in disbelief as he only handed the ball and was just helping Bangladesh there.
Salman Ali Agha Returns To Pavilion Furiously
As mentioned above, Salman Agha couldn't believe what he saw and threw his helmet and bat in anger. The 32-year-old hurled a mouthful to Bangladesh players as he questioned the spirit of the game. The decision was referred to the third umpire who too agreed with on-field umpire's decision.

Agha also got into an altercation with Litton Das after the incident as the latter felt Miraz's actions were justified and completely within the rulebooks. Mohammad Rizwan also confronted the Bangladesh squad, but the players refused to revoke the appeal.
Angelo Matthews' Time-Out Incident Resurfaces On Internet
Spirit of the game was in question as fans debated about it on the internet. Meanwhile, Angelo Matthews' time-out video resurfaced on the internet, where the fans argued that Bangladesh are habitual of breaking the spirit of the game.
For the unversed, Angelo Matthews was not allowed to bat during 2023 World Cup match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Notably, Sri Lanka batter had issues with his helmet and couldn't take strike on time.
Bangladesh appealed for a time-out and the batter was declared out. Bangladesh were heavily criticised for their actions and drew massive backlash.
Talking about the ongoing match, at the time of writing this article, Pakistan are reduced to 272/9 after 46.5 overs. Meanwhile, Salman Agha returned to the pavilion after scoring 64 (62). Notably, it is a must-win game for Pakistan because a defeat would see them lose the series.
