Hardik Pandya and his iconic pose, inspired by Khaby Lame, often gets a lot of attention across the globe. The star all-rounder did it again once India won the T20 World Cup by crushing New Zealand in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
However, Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson – two of India’s T20 World Cup heroes – did not miss out on a chance to make fun of Hardik Pandya’s famous celebration pose.

Of course, it was all fun and games, and there was no bad intention from Samson and Bumrah to go personal against Hardik Pandya.

Even though Hardik is often hailed as India’s USP in T20Is, his performance did not live up to the lofty expectations during the T20 World Cup 2026. Across seven innings, he tallied 217 runs, with the help of 15 sixes. He averaged a below-par 27.12, though his strike rate was pretty impressive (over 160).
In terms of bowling, Hardik claimed 9 wickets in as many matches, with an economy rate of 8.81. His bowling average (32.33) spoke for itself about how it all went when he rolled his arms over the tournament.
Hardik Pandya To Return To Action As MI Captain
Hardik Pandya will return to the field soon, as IPL 2026 is confirmed to begin on March 28. There, Hardik will captain the Mumbai Indians, where the World Cup-winning captains Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma will play under him alongside Jasprit Bumrah.
Even though the official schedule is yet to be unveiled, the recent rumours claimed that it will all be in front of everybody on March 12. Hardik will be on a mission to make MI among the IPL titles yet again, something they won five times, but not after 2020.
Hardik Pandya IPL Stats
Hardik Pandya’s biggest IPL achievement was helping the Gujarat Titans win the IPL trophy in their debut season, 2022. He made his IPL debut in 2015, and the Gujarat Titans took him when they announced themselves in the competition.
However, MI brought him back two years later and made him captain of the five-time champions, succeeding Rohit Sharma. The decision did not go over well with MI fans, and Hardik is still on a mission to lift their spirits by leading them to success again.
Overall, Hardik has played 152 IPL matches, and scored 2749 runs at a strike rate of just under 147. With the ball, he has claimed 78 wickets at an economy rate of 9.18.
