After ending the group stage with an unbeaten streak, Team India has now locked in their eyes on the upcoming Super Eight stage. Even after Abhishek Sharma is facing some serious batting woes, he made sure there was no shortage of energy in the team before the big stage.

Giving the team an energetic pep talk, Abhishek’s message grabbed attention. As the fiery opener stepped into a new role, his antics left Ishan Kishan and the rest of the teammates in stitches.

Abhishek Sharma’s unexpected new role grabs attention

Since Abhishek Sharma’s debut in the Indian side, the team found a fierce opener in him. In the ongoing T20 World Cup, his lean patch became a massive concern, but before the Men in Blue start their Super Eight journey, the fiery opener explored a new way to inspire people. During Team India’s practice session, he turned into a motivational speaker.

Team India may not be at their best, but they remain unbeaten and are working hard as the Super Eight brings tougher challenges. Ahead of that, Abhishek Sharma turned into a motivational speaker, giving an energising pep talk to the other teammates.

As the players were in a hurdle, Abhishek Sharma started the speech with, “In all the games, it's a sign of a champion team. Let’s just keep enjoying each other's performances. That’s the best thing we are doing right now. A Few things more, I think the energy we are showing in all the games is fantastic. We are here to win the game. Let’s just keep enjoying it.”

Until this, the speech was fiery enough to boost the confidence as the team was enjoying Abhishek Sharma’s new role as a motivational speaker when he is struggling with his form. But the batter added a hilarious twist, saying, “Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akaal.” After that, the entire team roared up and burst into laughter as Ishan Kishan’s reaction didn’t go unnoticed.

Selection dilemma looms large over Abhishek before the next game

Abhishek Sharma has always been a massive strength to India’s top order, but the T20 World Cup 2026 has become a massive upset for him. With three ducks in three games, the fiery Indian opener is struggling as his lean patch in the crucial stage has become a concern for the Indian side.

As the challenges are going to be tougher in the upcoming stage, the young opener may face a potential snub, as the recent net session gave a silent indication towards that. Team India already have a backup option in Sanju Samson, who was seen having an extended batting session in the nets.

But the bowling coach, Morne Morkel, has shown strong faith in Abhishek Sharma’s ability in the recent press conference.

Responding to questions over the opener’s form, Morkel made it clear the team continues to trust him during this tough phase. While his place in the XI remains uncertain, Abhishek will carry a huge responsibility if he gets the chance.

Cricket world braces for a thrilling India vs South Africa showdown

Whenever Team India and South Africa face off on a T20I stage, the cricket world remembers the iconic T20 World Cup 2024 final. Back then, the Men in Blue defeated the Proteas to lift the trophy for the second time. Now, both sides are gearing up for another fierce showdown.

Last year, when both sides faced off in a five-match T20I series, South Africa struggled in the Indian conditions as they faced a 3-1 series defeat. In the ongoing tournament, however, both sides remain unbeaten, making the next clash crucial as the losing team will suffer their first defeat of the T20 World Cup 2026.
