Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could potentially be the greatest ever cricketer in the history of cricket, given the start he had at such a young age. However, there is still time to make such a prediction; all India need to hand him the senior men’s cap to get things going.
Sooryavanshi did not get a chance to shine in the India tour of Ireland 2026. There, he was with Shreyas Iyer and his boys, but the BCCI did not give him an opportunity to go berserk.
Instead, they kept on playing the same opening combination in both outings – Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson. And they ended up losing 0-2 in Ireland, a feat they would like to forget as quickly as possible.
Now the question is, will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi play India vs England 1st T20I? The answer will be found out soon enough, as India will play the first of the five-match T20I series in England on July 1 at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Not To Get An Easy Welcome
Nevertheless, Harry Brook, England’s white-ball captain who could potentially become the Test captain as well after Ben Stokes international retirement, said they have plans ready for Sooryavanshi.
Brook said if the 15-year-old debuts for India against them, they have done the homework to send him packing as early as possible.
"We've got our tactics and hopefully they work. There's been a lot of digging behind the scenes to see what we can do to try and stop them from playing their best cricket," Brook told the reporters ahead of India vs England 1st T20I.

Not to forget, Sooryavanshi is on the verge of becoming the youngest debutant for India among men.
Overall, it was Gargi Banerji, who is the youngest Indian debutant in cricket, having announced her arrival at 14 years and 165 days at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens against England back in 1978.
Sooryavanshi Recently In Action In Sri Lanka
Sooryavanshi was recently in action in Sri Lanka, where a tri-nation series was happening. However, it was India A that he represented, and he did not live up to his lofty expectations until the final.
These are all past now, and if Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets a start in senior men, there is no denying that no one can stop him. He has already shown the world what he has during IPL 2026, having smashed world class bowlers for fun from left to right.
India vs England T20I Series Details
