The swashbuckling southpaw, who bagged the Orange Cap in IPL 2026, earned his maiden call-up for the senior men's side ahead of Team India's tour of Ireland and England. However, despite cricket fans demanding his inclusion in the playing XI, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Team India debut was delayed, with the management preferring the settled trio of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan as the top order. Amid his prolonged snub from the playing XI, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hinted at his potential Team India debut through a social media post.
