Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been the centre of attraction since he took the IPL 2026 by storm through some breathtaking performances. 

The swashbuckling southpaw, who bagged the Orange Cap in IPL 2026, earned his maiden call-up for the senior men's side ahead of Team India's tour of Ireland and England. 

However, despite cricket fans demanding his inclusion in the playing XI, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Team India debut was delayed, with the management preferring the settled trio of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan as the top order.

While Abhishek Sharma hammered a counterattacking fifty, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan's torrid run continued, as they were dismissed for 1 and 0, respectively. 

In fact, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have been far from their best versions since the Ireland tour. The two-match series against the Irish was forgettable for Samson and Ishan, who managed only 5 and 13 runs, respectively.

Taking to his official social media account on Instagram, Sooryavanshi posted a picture of his outrageous knock against England in the Under-19 World Cup final with the caption "New Chapter".

Notably, Sooryavanshi single-handedly powered India U19 to an emphatic World Cup triumph, amassing 175 runs off just 80 balls. Interestingly, it was the English team that Sooryavanshi dismantled that day with scintillating stroke-play. 

As Sooryavanshi reminisced about his past success against England, the post suggested he might be referring to his debut for the Indian team as the 'new chapter', which he used as the caption for his story.
