Rajasthan Royals broke their silence after weeks of intense trade rumours surrounding their key opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. The franchise revealed their plans for Jaiswal ahead of the IPL 2027 season retention deadline.
Jaiswal made his IPL debut with RR in 2020 and has been a core part of the franchise. In the last seven seasons, he not only helped the Royals grow but also witnessed a meteoric rise in international cricket as a multi-format player.
RR not keen on letting Yashasvi Jaiswal leave
However, after IPL 2026, rumours suggested that Yashasvi had grown apart from Rajasthan Royals and may seek an exit ahead of the IPL 2027 season.
Reacting to this speculation, a franchise official spoke to RevSportz and clarified that Jaiswal has expressed no desire to leave anytime soon. Not only that, even the Royals are happy to have Jaiswal in their fold, and they are already planning for the next season with him in their squad.
“He hasn’t told us anything (about leaving the franchise). We are planning things for the next season with him firmly on our roster. We have heard some rumours, but from our side, Jaiswal is very much our player," the official reportedly said.
The official also dismissed the trade rumours, saying Yashasvi is very much a Rajasthan Royals player and isn’t being discussed in any trade negotiations.

Is Jaiswal unhappy with RR?
There were speculations that Yashasvi Jaiswal had a rift with Rajasthan Royals management after they appointed Riyan Parag as captain following Sanju Samson’s exit to CSK.
Despite Jaiswal being a senior figure, he was ignored, which, according to MyKhel, planted a seed of dissent between the two parties. Not only that, but the same report also claimed that the growing focus on young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also creating a problem.
Apparently, RR making Sooryavanshi a priority led to dissatisfaction within the franchise as seniors like Jaiswal and even Samson felt left out. But despite all this, the RR management feels Yashasvi is an integral part of their core group.
The infamous MI-RR trade rumour
Another rumour doing rounds on social media is that RR were discussing trading Yashasvi Jaiswal to Mumbai Indians in exchange for Hardik Pandya.
The MI skipper is reportedly unhappy with the players’ treatment towards him since his return to the franchise as captain and wants an exit. He apparently approached RR, who were likely willing to put Jaiswal on the negotiations table.
However, Rajasthan Royals dismissed the rumours, saying that Jaiswal remains their player, as internally, there has been no discussion around a trade.
Hence, for now, Yashasvi Jaiswal is very much in RR’s plan for the IPL 2027 season and is most likely to be retained ahead of the retention deadline.
