The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has drawn a roadmap for the next Pakistan Super League (PSL 2027) season. The dates for the auction and direct player signings were released on Friday.

As announced earlier, the Pakistani board has decided to run the PSL 2027 between March 18 to May 2, which will directly clash with the IPL yet again.

PSL 2027 auctions date released; timeline for player direct signing out

Franchises can sign players who weren't in the league in the last two seasons, with one condition: Each of the eight franchises can sign one player as the marquee player.

The window for direct player signing opened on October 23 and will run for the next month, till November 23.

“The window opens today and runs until 23 November 2026. Each franchise may directly sign one marquee player who did not feature in HBL PSL 10 or HBL PSL 11,” a PCB press release stated.

Moreover, the auction is scheduled for January 27 2027, although the venue has yet to be locked in.

The PCB is still considering whether the tournament will run across five or six venues. If reports are to be believed, the league could also be played in Peshawar.

"The Player Auction on 23 January 2027 has been locked in," it added. "HBL PSL 12 will run from 18 March to 2 May 2027, featuring 44 matches across 46 days, played across five to six venues."

PCB to host two elite T20 tournament ahead of PSL 2027 auctions

Among the other things proposed in the roadmap, the PCB has assured that two elite T20 domestic tournaments- National T20 Gold and National T20 Silver- will be hosted before the PSL 2027 auctions to ensure proper scouting can be done.

In a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan's cricketing pipeline, the PCB has formally aligned its domestic competition calendar with the HBL PSL pre-season cycle," the board announced.

"The National T20 Gold and National T20 Silver tournaments will serve as the primary talent-identification and player-pathway events ahead of the HBL PSL 12 Player Auction," it added.
