The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 final will be played between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen on Sunday, May 3, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, has been the strongest team throughout the tournament. They performed consistently well and dominated most of their matches.
On the other hand, Hyderabad Kingsmen have had a surprising journey, especially since this is their first season in the PSL. Their comeback story has made them one of the most talked-about teams this year.
Peshawar Zalmi's dominance in PSL 2026
Notably, Peshawar Zalmi has been the team to beat in PSL 2026. During the league stage, they won eight out of ten matches, lost only one, and had one match washed out due to rain. Because of this strong performance, they finished at the top of the points table.
Moreover, they continued their dominance in the playoffs. In the Qualifier match held in Karachi, they defeated Islamabad United by a huge margin of 70 runs. As a result, they secured a direct place in the final.
Hyderabad Kingsmen’s remarkable comeback
In contrast, Hyderabad Kingsmen had a difficult start to their campaign. They lost their first four matches in a row, which made their chances of qualifying look very weak. However, they did not give up. Instead, they showed great determination and teamwork.
After that poor start, they bounced back strongly and won seven of their last eight matches. Because of this turnaround, they managed to finish fourth in the league stage.
Furthermore, they won both Eliminator matches, first against Multan Sultans and then against Islamabad United, to reach the final.
