RCB Players Leave India Amid IPL 2026; Fly To Another Country For Mid-Season Break

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been performing very well in IPL 2026. The defending champions are currently placed second in the points table. They have won 6 matches and lost 3, which gives them 12 points and a strong net run rate of 1.420.

However, their latest match brought a small setback. They lost to Gujarat Titans by 4 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 30. Even though they scored 155 runs, they were unable to defend that total.

RCB looking solid in IPL 2026

Despite this loss, the team still looks solid. Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, they have shown consistency. Interestingly, their performance often follows a pattern: two wins followed by one loss. This rhythm has still helped them stay near the top.

Several players have played an important role in RCB’s success. Virat Kohli continues to shine with the bat. He is regularly among the top run-scorers and still performs at a very high level despite being a senior player. In fact, he remains one of the highest run-scorers in IPL history.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been leading the bowling attack effectively. He is also part of the Purple Cap race, which is given to the top wicket-taker in the tournament.

RCB take mid-season break amid IPL 2026

At the same time, the team decided to take a short break during the middle of the season. After their match against Gujarat Titans, they had a seven-day gap before their next game. Therefore, this break gave players a chance to relax and recover.

A video that spread widely online showed RCB players leaving for a short vacation. They traveled to Maldives to refresh themselves. This decision was made so they could recharge before the most important part of the tournament begins.

It is important to note that such breaks are quite common in long tournaments like the IPL. Players face constant travel, training, and match pressure. As a result, short getaways help them stay mentally fresh and avoid burnout.

Notably, RCB are not the only team to do this. Mumbai Indians have taken similar breaks in past seasons, including a short trip to Jamnagar. Likewise, Sunrisers Hyderabad also visited the Maldives in 2025. 

What comes next for RCB?

After this refreshing pause, RCB will return to action. Their next match is against Lucknow Super Giants on May 7. Therefore, Rajat Patidar and co. will hope this break helps them perform even better as the tournament moves toward its final stages.
