On Wednesday, February 18, Pakistan became the latest and last entrants to the T20 World Cup 2026 super eight round. The Salman Agha-led side registered a comfortable 102 run win over Namibia to seal a place in the next round.
Pakistan featured in a do-or-die game against Namibia, and the winner would have qualified for the Super 8. Talking about the match, the Men in Green rode on Sahibzada Farhan’s century and put 199 runs on the board. In reply, Salman Mirza proved why he replaced Shaheen Afridi in the playing XI.
Further, the spinners were on song and helped Pakistan advance to the next round with 3 wins in four matches. Notably, the Men in Green only suffered a defeat against India on February 15.
Pakistan become last team to enter the T20 World Cup Super 8
The pressure was on for Salman Agha and his men because the Men in Green had also crashed out of the group stage in the 2022 T20 World Cup as well. However, Pakistan, who were pre-seeded in the tournament, are now through and will have to set their focus on the Super 8 stage.

For the unversed, Pakistan are placed in group B alongside Sri Lanka, England, and New Zealand. Here is Pakistan's schedule for super 8 stage.

Pakistan will kickstart the super 8 stage for group B on February 21 which is Saturday. Notably, the Men in Green will lock horns against New Zealand at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo at 7:00 pm IST. Notably, the Men in Green have played a solitary game at this venue, which was against India.
The caravan for Pakistan will then move to Pallekele Stadium in Kandy, where the Agha-led side will play their last two matches. On February 24, Pakistan will face England at 7:00 pm, which will be a repeat of 2022 T20 World Cup final.
Pakistan's last super 8 fixture will be against the hosts Sri Lanka at the Pallekele Stadium on February 28. Notably, the top two teams from the group will qualify for the next round.
Super 8 pre-seeding in T20 World Cup 2026
As mentioned above, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and England are placed in group B because of ICC's pre-seeding rules. Meanwhile, the group A features India, Zimbabwe, West Indies, and South Africa.
For the unversed, India and Sri Lanka are the hosts, which is why they are pre-seeded as XI and Y1. Whereas, the rest of the top-eight ranked teams are seeded as per their T20 rankings. Notably, Australia have crashed out of the tournament, which is why Zimbabwe will take their place in group A as they were the second team after Sri Lanka to qualify from the group which featured the Men in Yellow.
