The Pakistan cricket team just underwent a massive overhaul following their twin crushing defeats at the hands of England. Set to take on the hosts in the impending third Test in Birmingham, the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB released as many as seven players from the squad and recalled five uncapped stars as well as two comeback men.
Moreover, the PCB also sacked head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul midway into the series to make way for Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke respectively.
With Hesson already serving as Pakistan’s white-ball coach, the esteemed New Zealand coach recently claimed that the entire Pakistan team in England is “incredibly disappointed” with the recent chaos.

Pakistan’s newly appointed Test head coach Mike Hesson was recently asked to talk about the current morale of the team, based on the events that have transpired in the last few days.
Hesson laughingly responded that while the Pakistan players are “more used to” the chaos, the team is “incredibly disappointed” at the moment.
He said “The guys are probably more used to chaos than I am (smiles). No doubt they’re incredibly disappointed.”

Mike Hesson’s remarks about Pakistan team’s disappointing morale may have a lot to do with the sudden overhaul of the squad in the middle of the Test series against England.
Moreover, the ‘Men in Green’ have also twice capitulated to England, first at Leeds and then at Lord’s to go 0-2 down in the three-match Test series.
What did Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB do to Pakistan cricket team in England series?
Just earlier this week, the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB sacked Pakistan’s head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul following the team’s crushing defeat against England at Lord’s to go 0-2 down in the series.
The board subsequently appointed Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke as Pakistan’s new head coach and bowling coach respectively.
Moreover, the PCB also released seven cricketers from the squad, including senior pros Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha and injured Imam-ul-Haq. The other players released from the squad were Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad.
In turn, the board recalled Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal, and included five uncapped Test starts in the squad in the form of Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Saad Baig, Mohammad Imran Randhawa and Razaullah.
Pakistan’s sudden squad overhaul even prompted selection committee member Misbah-ul-Haq to tender resignation from his post.
Pakistan, PCB becomes “laughing stock” of world cricket
In light of the recent events, the PCB has certainly become the “laughing stock” of world cricket, at least as per veteran English commentator Nasser Hussain.
Not long ago, legendary former fast bowler Stuart Broad also criticised the Pakistan cricket team.
Shortly after the PCB confirmed massive changes to the Pakistan side in the middle of a tour, former Australian Test opener Usman Khawaja openly mocked Director of High Performance Aaqib Javed.
